Astrology for the Soul ~ The Moon

Author: Therese Rossignol

Traditionally, the moon represents the feminine, the mother, and that watery world of emotion and darkness. It radiates no light of its own, its only light coming from that reflected from the Sun. Moon energy is that less-conscious version of ourself. It’s energy can be instinctive and regressive, with a tendency to call us back into the past.

Nasa Image Sun

Traditionally the Sun represents the personality, or ego. It relates to the conscious mind and how the sense of identity is expressed. We are most at ease when we identify with the Sun’s sign. The energy of the Sun carries a strong sense of the will to live and the vitality of our life force. The Sun in astrology helps us answer the question, “Who are you?”. We find our purpose and direction through the energy of the Sun. It is the centralizing force of our evolving human consciousness and, with its partner the moon, seeks to purify the ego. The sun reflects the now, while the moon infuses the past into our lives.
