There’s a deep wisdom to purging ourselves of 'stuff'. It is creating space for something new and vibrant to be birthed in the new year. I'm inspired to gaze deeply into the small and large things that I surround and fill myself with. What are the things that are taking up physical space in my life? What are the emotions and thoughts that fill my heart and mind? After all, if something is holding a space, there’s no room for anything else there.

Jupiter is often referred to as the greater benefic (Venus being the lesser), representing success, achievement, good luck, positive results and boundless benefits. Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius and natural ruler of the 9th House, so there are many commonalities that link the planet, sign and house. Sagittarius is an expansive sign. It wants to raise our consciousness to its highest levels. It wants to help us envision the highest that is within us, to see our world at its most elevated. This meditation with the fiery energy of Sagittarius can be used to dedicate ourselves to compassionate action.

It has a particularly strong influence on all of us in our early forties as the instigator of the classic mid-life crisis. This is the time when Uranus reaches the half way point of its 84-year orbit and needles us with questions about whether we are freely expressing ourselves with true authenticity.
There is no way of telling people that they are walking around shining like the sun. Thomas Merton
