The moon sits in alignment between the Earth and the Sun during the New Moon. The side of the moon that receives the light from the sun faces away from us, and so the moon is not visible to us during this phase of the moon cycle. The New Moon is the beginning of the lunar cycle and offers us the energetic gift of initiating the new. So, the ideas and intentions that are set during the new moon will germinate and take root so that they can bloom at the full moon in two week’s time.
The Sun, Earth and Moon are again aligned during the Full Moon, however the Earth now lies between the Sun, and moon. The side of the moon that receives the light from the sun faces us and so the the moon is fully visible. The Full Moon represents manifestation and completion and offers us the energy of fulfillment, manifestation, and connection. So, those ideas and intentions that were planted during the new moon two weeks ago can now blossom or be harvested.
