Virgo Full Moon – 25 August 2018

Pisces can be self-sacrificing when it is not in touch with the larger picture. The full moon on the Pisces/Virgo axis is about service. This is not necessarily about participating in some worthwhile activity. It is about radiating the light that is within us into our daily life. It is a natural expression of the activity of the Soul.

Virgo New Moon – Presence and Mindfulness

By |2019-05-10T01:42:28+00:00October 4th, 2017|New Moon|

New moons constitute an in-breath. It’s a time to pause and reflect on where we are and where we wish to be.  We set intentions, we ponder on what we wish to create, develop, make manifest.  We consider any guidance we may have received at the full moon and make plans to act on what needs to come forth. At the time of a new moon the moon and sun sit right next to each other in the sky and they are always in the same sign.

Mindful Heart Astrology ~ Mercury’s Rulerships

By |2018-01-14T14:23:05+00:00September 4th, 2017|Astrology|

Virgo is the second sign of the zodiac to have Mercury as the ruling planet, the other is Gemini. At first glance, Virgo and Gemini seem vastly different, one is an earth sign and the other an air sign. They are both however, mutable signs which means there is a high degree of flexibility and adaptability with each.  When I began my studies in Astrology, I often wondered why these signs shared the smallest planet in the solar system as their ruler. The key to understanding this rulership is to consider the qualities of Mercury itself, rather than comparing the particular qualities of the signs.

Virgo, the sixth sign of the zodiac, wraps up summer in the northern hemisphere. This is the time when we harvest what we have sown. We take stock, analyze what we have created, then decide what is useful and what to leave aside. VirgoThe symbol for Virgo is sometimes shown as a woman carrying a sheaf of wisdom, representing the harvest of wheat during late summer. Symbolically, this hints at wisdom we have acquired during this half of the zodiac cycle. Seeds planted during the time of Aries, tended with Taurus, contemplated in Gemini, nurtured through Cancer, and culminated under the Leo Sun, are now ready for evaluation.

Virgo New Moon

By |2019-05-10T01:22:31+00:00August 30th, 2016|New Moon|

This month the new moon in Virgo falls on Thursday, September 1st, at 2:03am (PDT) Just 5 minutes later there is a solar eclipse. Just 15 days later we have a lunar eclipse in Virgo’s opposite sign, Pisces. Then the fall equinox occurs on September 22nd. So, this is a power packed month. Eclipses come in pairs and can mark major endings or beginnings, shifts in power, and sometimes they help create lasting changes in our lives. Since these eclipses occur in the sign of Virgo and Pisces we will be presented with opportunities to learn discernment, to take charge of our own healing, to remember how we are all one. Virgo knows how to heal through her connection to the earth’s wisdom. Pisces lives in the waters and washes away any wounds of separation so we may live in the knowing of our deep connection to others.
