Each new moon marks a new beginning.  The light is beginning to return and we can see a new vision, new possibilities.  It’s a perfect time to think about what you want to manifest.

One of the most important astrological aspects of 2016 is triggered at the new moon in Gemini on June 4th.  It’s called a t-square and it involves several powerful planets that come together to intersect and impact each other.  Let’s examine them one by one.

The planet Saturn is in the sign of Sagittarius.   Saturn is always wanting us to claim our own power….to be our own authority and to trust our own intuition.  In Sagittarius it points us toward our search for meaning and purpose.

This new moon is asking us to ground ourselves in the truth of our being so we can bring that energy into the world as a healing force.

The second important planet in this t-square is Neptune.  It is in the sign of Pisces and it sits exactly opposite Jupiter.  When Neptune is in the sign of Pisces we are privy to a down pouring of unconditional love. We come to appreciate the sacredness of all life.  The Pisces energy can lead us toward addiction and escapism if we journey too far into the underworld to save, and we become victims of our own selflessness.

How can I take my compassionate, loving nature and direct it into creativity and service, not sacrifice?

The third point in this t-square is Jupiter, which as mentioned, sits opposite Neptune. Jupiter is in the sign of Virgo.  In Virgo we can feel “less than”, unworthy.  We see what perfection can look like and we feel we can never measure up. Neptune can lift us up out of that mindset so we recognize the beneficence of the universe and its desire to support us in living a meaningful life, a life of hope and joy.

Am I willing to call in the energy of Neptune when I feel small and insignificant?

Exactly opposite Saturn in our t-square are the Sun, Moon, and Venus all in the sign of Gemini.  In this position Gemini wields a lot of power. We know Gemini has a lot to do with communication and dispersing information.  So we are being asked this New Moon to consider the power of our thoughts and to listen and share with others, to interact from a place of our own centeredness.

How can I monitor my thoughts this month so I am coming from a place of harmlessness when I speak?

Finally, all of these planets that have been described are in mutable signs…which means we will need to be fluid and flexible and things will be changing rapidly.  The more we hold on to what feels safe, but no longer serves us the more difficult the changing times will be for us.

“The mutable grand cross moves us beyond limits formerly set for us.  These are limits that no longer work for us, or ones that we are forced to admit are no longer solid.  Some things get washed away.  Personally and collectively this lunar cycle promises to bring us some strange realities to confront.  Realigning ourselves with what philosophically and spiritually hold us accountable can keep us grounded through these winds of change.”  Chani Nicholas

A poem for Gemini

May you have the courage to listen to the voice of desire
That disturbs you
When you have settled
For something safe.

Deepen Your Transformation

Pondering these questions as you enter into meditation this month, especially on the day of the full moon, can deepen your transformation.

How do we fit in the scheme of things?

How do we live an authentic life, in alignment with our larger purpose?
