This new moon is an especially potent time to consider what it is you wish to manifest in the coming months. The Summer Solstice occurred just three days before this new moon which means that there is a powerful pathway created that allows for a download of celestial energies. This sacred opening will give us the opportunity to connect more deeply with our Higher Self and will help us remember that we are all Divine Beings.

The major themes of this new moon have to do with our wounding, how we develop our relationships, and how we communicate our deepest needs.

An Opportunity for Healing

Chiron forms a square to this new moon. Chiron is the Wounded Healer, the aspect of ourselves that has been hurt, betrayed, abused, ignored, or mistreated. If we are to heal we must look at these wounds and commit to healing and transforming them. Once the healing has occurred we are more able to offer our wisdom to others who are suffering. This month you may want to observe where your woundedness is still controlling your behavior and re-commit to nurturing those hurt parts until a deeper level of healing can occur.

Mars, Jupiter and Pluto are also big players in this new moon configuration. There is energy to go deeper in our relationships but we must be clear about how we deal with the power struggles involved. Is the power held equally, in balance, or am I abdicating my power to another? Questioning how I use or misuse my power will be important this month.

Clear Emotional Communication

In the sky, the planet Mercury is sitting very close to this new Moon. Mercury is the messenger of the gods and has everything to do with how we communicate. Cancer is a “feeling” sign. It is deeply connected to our emotional body. Cancers experience the world through their feelings. So being this close to Mercury, we are encouraged to communicate our deepest feelings and needs with those we are in relationship with. This requires that we be clear about what our needs are and then have the courage to express them. We must know that we have the right to be heard and listened to.

“One of the most commonly overlooked spiritual practices is daring to be completely honest with everyone you encounter. Some may say others cannot handle their honesty, but true honesty is not a strategy or a weapon of any kind. It is the willingness to be open and absolutely transparent in sharing how any moment feels in your heart. It has nothing to do with confrontation, accusation, or any form of blame. True honesty is the willingness to stand completely exposed, allowing the world to do what it may, and say what it will, only so you may know who you are – beyond all ideas.” (Matt Kahn)

Deepen Your Transformation

Pondering these questions as you enter into meditation this month, especially on the day of the full moon, can deepen your transformation.

How can I nurture our inner flame, the Divine Spark within me?

Can I re-commit to healing those aspects of myself that are unredeemed?

How honest and direct am I in expressing my needs and feelings?

Am I willing to address the power dynamics in my relationship with others?
