Emerging out of the Darkness

This new moon in Sagittarius invites us to let go of old outdated beliefs and mind sets. We must always be our own best compass and use discernment to detect when a habit has outlived its usefulness. Only then can we choose, consciously the way forward that will best ensure our evolutionary progress. We have emerged out of the swamps, the darkness of the Scorpio journey and now we look ahead to what wants to be born.  What is emerging from this time in the darkness? Sagittarius wants to shoot his arrow at a lofty goal, at a vision of possibility. To do this he must relinquish his attachment to old ideas and ways of being. Transformation is in the air. How can we best participate?

Holding the Vision

We can hold the vision. We can stand strong in our knowing. We can garner our courage and be the knight on the white horse galloping toward freedom. At this new moon we are asked to envision a new way of being in partnership and how to use our power for the greatest good. How many of us can envision a partnership where each person is honored, respected, and equal? How balanced are those energies within us, the masculine and the feminine? Here is where our work begins. Not outside of ourselves but on our own inner transformation. It’s time to examine our most fundamental assumptions about love, relationship and life. What kind of messages did you get as a young person that shaped your ideas about partnership?  Are you still following those old programs or can you examine them dispassionately and choose to listen to your heart instead of operating on automatic pilot? This month we have the support we need to do this work. The possibilities are there. The vision can be manifest. Let us not lose heart, but reaffirm our commitment to do the work of liberation for ourselves and our country.

New Moon in Sagittarius

The Quivering

If we but make friends
with the quivering,
the subtle and not so subtle
shaking of the body
and all its parts,
letting go
of what we’ve held onto
long enough,
If we but soften our grasp
on who we have always been,
to make room for
what can be
knowing not
what may appear,
knowing only
the quivering,
(And I ask,
Is not some part of us
always dying?)
(And I ask,
Are we not everyday
in some small way
reborn?)
Then, just as the
wild animal shakes
off the fear of attack,
we too can shake
off the fears that
want to eat us whole.

&nbsp
We can walk
barefoot in the woods
with a quiver of arrows,
cautious of what
still wants to ensnare us,
but alive with the
light emanating
from our newly
trodden path.
Are we not path makers?
So we are.
Are we not path finders?
So we are.
Do arrows not quiver
before they are loosed into the world?
Then so must we.
Finally,
we are archer and arrow
at once
sprung into the wind
carried swiftly,
silently,
precisely
to our
very
heart,
pierced and present.

Deepen Your Transformation

Pondering these questions as you enter into meditation this month, especially on the day of the full moon, can deepen your transformation.
